but you do bring up a good point…it’s no accident that the yogini look and lifestyle is now such a strong marketing brand worldwide…it didn’t just happen overnight and it was developed and well thought by some really intelligent business people with a LOT of money behind them..namely john abbott, ex-ceo of citicorp who had started doing yoga for a chronic back injury, bought yoga journal in 1998 and immediately re-branded the look with the now famous sexy asana of the month with the upward gaze into bliss…now yoga journal and all of its compatriots is a lifestyle brand and a multi-media corporation which sells to consumers from wall-mart all the way to sting and maddona the yoga lifestyle including clothing, hair products and cell phones.
